Every Roman, particularly the working class waits patiently for the Friday evening to arrive. After a tough week at work Romans love to let their hair down and enjoy life to the fullest. Weekend is a time to spend with friends and family over elaborate lunch or dinner, or a quick get away to anywhere in Italy or even Europe.
THE GHOSTLY SUMMERS
Have you ever been to Rome in august? Well those who have been will know what I am talking about. August is vacation time in Rome and in major cities across Europe. Every roman makes it a point to get out of the city for the entire month. About 98% of the population leaves the city for farm houses in the country side or to vacations outside the country itself. The city adorns a ghostly look during those sultry days.
THE INFAMOUS BARS, PIZZERIAS AND GELATERIAS
All the above mentioned joints are popular hangouts, particularly after work when the bars and the gelaterias are swarming with people, wanting to refresh and get back in their jovial mood.
In spite of the high percentage of immigration, Romans have been highly successful in maintaining and dominating outside influences on their modern yet contemporary lifestyle that still carries on.
