Tanning Spa
Body tanning is a new introduction in the range of cosmetic services offered by a spa. This concept is becoming increasingly popular because of fast and effective results. Now in addition to a healthy glowing skin you can get that perfect tan too. A number of advantages have made people opt for tanning spas instead of tanning under scorching sun rays. Spa salons offer a number of treatments by which you can achieve perfect skin tan in a single or couple of sittings.
Advantages of tanning spa

Being an indoor process tanning becomes less harmful as you are protected from the harmful ultra violet rays. Also, instead of spending the whole afternoon lying under the sun, tanning in the luxurious environment of spa is much better. Spa tanning ensures equal distribution of the tanning effect. It also adopts a number of protective measures by which there are fewer chances of side effects. Being held in a spa, a tanning session often comes in attractive packages where you get free skin and hair treatments along with tanning. It is therefore worth while to try out tanning in a spa.

Types of tanning in a spa

Tanning bed: It is a type of thermal bed which emits ultra violet rays causing tanning. The ultra violet ray emitted by a tanning bed is less harmful than sun rays in many ways. First of all it maintains a prefect balance between UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays emitted by the sun in larger quantities are considered harmful for skin and can cause skin cancer as well. A tanning bed controls the emission of UVB rays therefore reducing the risk of skin cancer. UVA rays emitted by the tanning bed are long rays that do not cause a burning sensation and also prevents skin damage.

Tanning lotion: these are a type of self- tanning lotion that is available in spa centers. You will get a temporary tan by using this lotion lasting for a maximum period of three days. You do not have to expose your skin to sun after applying. This works indoors only.

Spray tanning: Spray tanning is again a fast and easy method of getting temporary tan that lasts a little longer than tanning lotions. Tanning spas use DHA (a colorless sugar) that is used as mist or spray. The chemical reacts when it comes into contact with the upper layer of skin and helps in darkening the skin color. The effect lasts for about seven to eight days.
