The “Aryans” of the world, Germans belong to a culture and race whose roots go back to pre historical times. An eventful past and unique cultural heritage has earned her a respectable status in Europe and the world. In the field of arts and literature Germans have left their own mark. After a gap during Nazi regime, Germans again gained the opportunity to show off their skills to the world. Germans are also well known for their unique behavioral traits.
CULTURE REFLECTED IN LIFESTYLE
Germans have a unique style of living and moving on with their lives. Privacy and personal space is held above anything else. It is reflected in the way every home in Germany is surrounded by some sort of fencing. There is mutual respect for privacy. People are less curious about other’s lives. Keeping a door shut for long hours is not a mark of impoliteness but that of valuing once privacy above anything else.

There are many other unique cultural traits about Germans. The one most popular in the west is about the meal timings and afternoon breaks. There is a law in Germany which allows people to take a long break in the afternoon. From work and school people return to their homes for lunch, which is the most elaborate and important meal of the day. Post lunch time is usually for a small nap or relaxation.

Food and fashion are also an integral part of German cultural identity. Simplicity of cooking and taste is signature German food. As for fashion, Germans are least bothered about cuts and shapes. Most of the dresses worn are oversize and the color palate is soft and subtle. Germans stay away from making any sort of style statement in clothing.

Their thought provoking and intriguing writings have earned huge following all over the world.
