1) Floating-Market Fair // Damoen Saduak, Thailand
An annual event held in the month of March this festival is an integral part of Thailand’s lifestyle. Every boat-shop at the daily market of Damen Saduak takes part in this event and fills up the klongs or canals. After the regular hours of shopping in the morning various activities like boat racing, cookery shows take place. The sights and smells of different fruits, flowers, vegetables and a host of other tempting items create a magical ambience. Add to it the boat men and women dressed in traditional Thai dresses and hats. This festival hasn’t changed much over the years, which is an added attraction.

2) Perfume Pagoda Festival // Huong Pagoda, Vietnam
Huong Pagoda is one of the most famous Buddhist shrines in Asia. It is believed to be the heaven of Buddha. Held from February to May, every year, this is perhaps one of the longest festivals in the world. During the festival beautiful shops line the stairway up to the temple, adding splendor to the magical setting. This is also one of the most important festivals in Vietnam.

3) Singapore Food Festival // Singapore
Held in the month of July Singapore tops the list of International food festivals held round the year. Almost every kind of delicacy in the world finds a place here. An absolute paradise for food lovers, this place gathers some of the best International chefs. Apart from n number of food stalls, musical events and fashion shows (theme-food) are also major attractions.

4) Diwali // India
Celebrated in the month of November/December (based on the Hindu calendar), Diwali (or the festival of lights) has become a trademark festival of India. Celebrated in every state, city, town, village of India, this festival celebrates different Religious traditions among Hindus. The traditions vary from state to state. Being the festival of lights the main attraction centers on lighting candles or ‘diyas’ in every home and burning fire crackers.

5) Dubai shopping festival // Dubai, UAE
This is the most celebrated shopping festivals of the world. Shopping here goes to maddening heights, as the Fair houses every luxury item from jewels to Perfumes. The gold ornaments sold in special rates however win hands down. Held in the month of April this festival also houses one of the biggest fairs of the world. The festival also attracts millions of tourists during this period.
