Ancient Asian Lifestyle
The term Civilization got its proper connotation from the supreme standard of living of Ancient Asian people. Ancient Asian lifestyle has in a way set the lifestyle norms and standards for rest of the world to follow. In spite of belonging to the same continent great civilizations of Ancient Asia were markedly different from each other. Different ways of living, dressing, food habits, language, culture gave each of these civilizations a unique identity. Ancient Asian lifestyle can be better understood by looking at the separate lifestyles of these civilizations.
Mesopotamian civilization- In a very short span of time Mesopotamia had developed a very sophisticated culture of her own. Basically an agrarian economy, Mesopotamia left her distinguishing marks in Architecture and pottery. Sumer and Babylon were the important countries that developed at different periods of time. Social gatherings took place according to class distinctions. Recreation activities included Lion hunting, music, various games etc. Dressing was simple, both men and women wore a skirt like clothing adorned by jewelry made of precious and semi precious stones. Royal people wore more fine and intricate dresses and jewels.

Indus Valley Civilization- The twin cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro formed this magnificent civilization by the Indus Riverside. These cities established very high standards in urban planning. Stone and Bronze sculptures were unmatched in any other part of Ancient Asia. Not much is known of the living ways of the Indus Valley people because of a unique language in which most of their scripts were written. These cities had trade relations with Mesopotamia. There were marked distinctions between the dress code of men and women. Food items included rice, porridge, meat, etc.

Chinese civilization- One of the most interesting and mysterious civilizations of all times, Chinese civilization was absolutely unique from all respects. Situated by the Huang He (Yellow River), this part of Asia produced silk thread and clothes and traded them in Central Asia. Many mysterious myths and traditions and social customs were practiced in this land. Ancient Asian lifestyle is identified by these salient features of her great civilizations.
